1968 Porsche 912 Coupe Project, VIN 12801374, Engine 1281074 MATCHING NUMBERS

Here we have a car that was very cool when it left Stuttgart in 1968. This car left the Factory in stunning Tangerine (Blutorange paint code 6809) with a black interior with engine 1281074 and gearbox 1281120, all of which it still has. That’s right, matching engine and gearbox. While the tangerine paint is rough you can still see why this car was once so beautiful and get a glimpse into what it will look like once it is restored. The car came heavily optioned with options like:
1. Tinted Glass All Around
2. Rubber Bumpers
3. 2 Fog Lights
4. Koni Shocks
5. Wood Steering Wheel
6. FUCHS alloy wheels

The previous owner looks to have lived a life of great adventure based on the stickers on the car, everything from the Cousteau Society to the Hobie Hawk Glider Club to the AOPA, he even has a Porsche sticker from Le Mans. A life of true living!
All of that is the good news, the bad news the car will need a full restoration, so please look at all the pictures to get a good idea of the level of rust this car has. It looks fairly complete so you won’t have to hunt down a million parts, but you will have plenty of work ahead of you.
You see lots of 912’s on the market but rarely are they matching numbers, this heavily optioned when new, and in such a cool color. Somewhere along the way wood wheel and the FUCHS went missing. This car is worthy of a full restoration and would make a great addition to any collection. 1968 is also the last of the short wheel based cars so in some ways the end of the original 911 era.
Low reserve, and like most of our auctions it will probably be met, so if you’ve been looking for a SWB 9 series car, look no further.

Clear title and ready for export.

Don’t miss out!
