Hello,

I am selling a 1964 Porsche 356C. The story about this car is kind of sad. The owner of the car bought the car in 1982. The car was already repainted red, and the original color is lite ivory #6404. The owner drove the car seldomly until 2008. He decided to have the car repainted, so he took the car to a friend who does bodywork and painting. The car was complete when he dropped off at the body shop. So, from 2008-2018, the owner lost track of the car and the car disappeared. The owner of the car passed away in 2018 and it took a while for the owner’s wife to find the car. The car was brought back to her house, unfortunately the car was not complete. The owner of the body shop also passed away. The car was left with the brother and son which I believe had the missing parts, but they are gone.

4 years have passed, and the wife of the owner decided to let the car go. I took responsibility of the car and picked up the car from her house and brought the car to Markham Motor Works. Markham Motor Works is 40+ years Porsche specialist. We put the car on the hoist and inspected the car before selling the car. This is what MMW and I found:

Vin Number: 130841 1964 Reutter Color 6404 Lite Ivory

Engine: P*732431 1864 616/15 (Engine is believed to be an original engine)

Case: 14 Cover + 2 ½

Transmission: 81156 741/OC 1B2B3B4C (Transmission is believed to be an original transmission)

Wheels: 3 – 2/64 and 1 – 7/64

Body Number: Body -841, Right Door- 841, Deck Lid – 841, Left Door – none, and Front hood – none

MMW inspected the body and this is what he found: Battery box was repaired badly, rust under right fender well, front frame was hit, bondo L+R fender braces under pedal cluster, floor repaired badly, minor rust on side rockers, bondo on left side by decklid, bondo on rear tails, left rear seat, rear jumper rustic holes, left front hood, front left new channel put on but not painted on undercoating. Possible front-end repair.

Missing parts: rear taillights, front turn signals, front grills, 1 passenger seat, rear jumper seats, 1 pair rear bumper bracket, headlights, front hood handle, hubcaps, spare tire, toolkits, and hardware.

The car last ran in 2008 and was not running when I picked up the car from the owner. After the car was inspected at MMW, I brought the car to my house and did some cleaning, pressure washed the engine, under the car, changed oil, cleaned the gas tank, replaced fuel filter, fuel hoses, replaced two new steel braided oil filter line, oil filter, fresh fuel, and fired the engine. The engine runs and is alive after 10 years of hibernating. Engine runs and I drove on my property. The car shifts and stops. I had the remaining parts put back on the car and the windshield glasses were put back on the car with new seal.

The car is a project car if you want to a full restoration or drive as is. I would advise you to do a full mechanical service before you drive on the road. The car is currently up to date on registration, and I have clean title on hand with a bill of sale. I have complete keys for the door, ignition, glove box, and shift lock. I have an aftermarket owner’s manual for the car. If the car is sold in California and the license plates will remain with the car. If the car is sold out of state, the license plates will be removed from the car.
