With A Coupe projects becoming fewer and farther between, this is a rare opportunity to restore not just a Porsche 356A, but a matching numbers coupe in rare and beautiful Aquamarine Blue. This car was parked in a garage in 1969 in Virginia, where it sat until we recently pulled it out. It retains its original engine #67936 and its original gearbox #17442, both confirmed by the attached factory kardex scan. Originally delivered in striking Aquamarine Blue over Brown (Color Code B per the kardex), the car retains its original brown interior while the exterior was repainted mustard yellow at some point.
The car will need a fair amount of rust repair, as can be seen in the photos. The engine still turns over by hand. Projects like this with matching components that are still fairly complete are becoming unicorns in the 356 market. Restored in its original Aquamarine Blue, this car will be a true standout, even in a sea of restored 356s. And as a matching numbers car, will always retain the highest value amongst 356s.
